Twin Bowl Set, Gold Polish — 6.5 Inch
Two bowls cast as one piece, with a looping handle at each end and a spoon for each well. Gold polish on the outside, the handles and the rims; chased German Silver left bright inside. Boxed in red velvet.
The two-tone is the whole point
Most gold-polish serveware is gold all over and reads as one flat block of colour. This one is split: the outside, the rim beading and the two handles are gold polished, and both wells are left silver — chased with flower medallions inside a scrolling ground, so the pattern sits under whatever you fill it with.
The practical effect is that the food reads against silver instead of disappearing into gold. Almonds, cashews, raisins, mukhwas — all of it shows up better in a bright well than a yellow one.
One body, two wells, two handles
It is a single casting, not two bowls on a stand, so there is nothing to line up and nothing to knock out of place. The two handles loop up from the ends, which means you can lift it across a table with one hand while it is full.
The handles are also what makes it 3.5 inches tall — the bowls themselves are shallow. Worth knowing if you were planning to stack anything on top of it, or slide it into a cabinet with a low shelf.
We sell two twin bowls — this is the gold one
Same size, same price, genuinely different objects. Thirty seconds now saves a return:
- This one — gold polish on the outside, rims and handles, with the wells left bright, in a red velvet box. Louder on a table, and the gold will wear at the handles over time.
- The plain German Silver twin bowl — one colour throughout, no gold polish at all, chased over every surface, navy velvet box. Quieter, and there is no plated finish to wear off.
If it is going straight onto a shelf as a display piece, this one photographs better. If it is going to be used often, the plain one is the safer buy.
Read the sizes
- The set — 6.5 inches end to end, 3.5 inches tall to the top of the handles
- Each spoon — 4 inches, chased on the handle, plain in the bowl
6.5 inches across two wells means each well is small — this is a side piece for the coffee table or the puja room, the thing that holds dry fruit for guests or mishri and saunf after a meal. It is not a serving bowl for a dinner table. If you want something with real capacity, the seven-piece dry fruit set with its 11-inch tray is the larger option.
Keep it dry
This one has a genuine restriction and it is better said plainly than discovered later.
- Dry things only. Dry fruits, nuts, mukhwas, mishri, saunf, elaichi, chocolates, dried rose petals. It is made for those.
- Nothing wet, oily, hot or sour. Chutney, halwa, curd, lemon, anything in syrup — the chasing traps it, and acidic and oily food attacks gold polish faster than anything else will.
- A paper cup or a small liner inside the well solves it if you want to serve something wet at a party. Not elegant, but it works and it saves the finish.
Material and care
The body is German Silver — an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc. There is no silver in it; the name describes the colour, not the content.
The gold on this set is a polish over that alloy, not solid gold and not gold plate of any measured thickness. Nearly all of our range has no gold polish at all — this one does, and that changes how you look after it:
- Dry cotton cloth only. No metal polish, no Brasso, no scouring powder, no dish scrubber. Any of those will take the gold off, and it does not come back.
- Do not soak it and do not put it in a dishwasher. Wipe out crumbs, wipe the outside, done.
- Expect the gold to wear first at the handles and the rim edges — the places fingers and spoons touch. That is normal for a polished finish and it is why the silver wells are the parts doing the work.
- The silver interiors will darken slowly. That is tarnish, not damage — the care guide has the method, and the gentle end of it is the only end you should use here.
Why people give it
It is the gift that gets used the same evening it arrives — filled with dry fruit and put out for whoever is visiting. That makes it easy for Diwali, a wedding, a griha pravesh or a housewarming, Bhai Dooj, or a return gift at a function. The red box is clasped and lined, so it hands over as it is.
In the box
- One twin bowl, 6.5 x 3.5 inch, gold polish outside and chased German Silver inside
- Two spoons, 4 inch
- Red velvet gift box with a brass clasp
The dry fruits, flowers, diya and marble in the photographs are styling, not part of the order.

What exactly is German Silver?
An alloy of copper, nickel and zinc — no silver in it at all. It holds a bright, warm shine, resists tarnish far better than sterling, and costs a fraction as much. Indian households have used it for generations for exactly this reason.
How do I clean and care for it?
Warm water, mild soap, soft cloth — then dry it straight away. No steel wool, no scouring powder. Wipe off ghee, oil and kumkum the same day. It will darken slowly over months; that is tarnish, not damage, and a dry cloth brings it back.
When will it reach me?
Dispatched within 48 hours with a tracking link by SMS and email. 3–4 working days to metros, 4–6 elsewhere. Prepaid only — we do not offer cash on delivery.
Can I return it?
Yes — within 7 days of delivery, unused and in its original box, for a full refund. We arrange the pickup. Engraved pieces are the only exception.

Why German Silver
Made to be used, not stored away
Every piece is spun on a hand lathe rather than pressed out of a die, chased with a chisel, and checked by a person before it is seated in its velvet case.
- An alloy the whole way through — there is no plating to wear off
- Resists tarnish far better than sterling — a dry cloth, not a polish kit
- Food-safe and non-reactive — serve prasad, kheer and dry fruit from it
